The 2017 Georgia TSA State Leadership Conference Registration Pack is available on our website - Conferences | Georgia Technology Student Association . It is critical that you read this document and not assume anything in regard to the registration and submission procedures that are required in GA. There are several events that we will require to be uploaded to our Event Management System that are not required in the National TSA Rules. (The state conference has two days of competition, while the National Conference has four) The Registration Document supercedes the National Rules and you are responsible for complying withing state deadlines. Registration opens January 3rd, 2017 and will close February 10th at midnight.
The 2017 State Officer Candidate Application is now available! The interviews will take place in Athens, GA on January 28, 2017. Applications are due by January 25, 2017 at midnight, and are to be submitted in EMS under the Document Upload section.

The NEW GA TSA State Leadership Conference Dates for 2017 are: March 9-11, 2017.
I was directed by the board to make every effort to move the 2017 (next year's) State Leadership Conference due to our ITEEA Professional Association Annual Conference falling on the same exact days.
Our state is hosting the 2018 Conference in Atlanta and many of our teachers and advisors have important duties this year. They are expected to shadow the 2017 Host Team to learn what they will be doing in ATL as well as promoting the Atlanta Conference in Dallas.
I contacted FCCLA's Executive Director and made the request to swap weekends with them. They had the same days, a week earlier. Their board graciously voted to accept the swap.
This has JUST happened, so along with the Classic Center arrangements, this also affects our hotel blocks.. I will be signing new hotel contracts this Friday. SO those of you with reservations, already will need to change the dates of your stay, moving them to the week earlier. I will announce when the new block agreements have been signed. I will attempt to see if they can just move the existing TSA CHapter reservations to that week, but, it may require you to contact your hotel and make those changes AFTER I have completed the revised contracts. (Because they will not have any blocks for us yet on the new dates.
GM joins Army as Gold Level Conference Sponsors for this year's State Leadership Conference in Athens. Army will be bringing their semi truck, interactive education center for our members to explore during the conference. It will be located under the pavillion. In addition, AT&T is joined by Valdosta State University as Silver Level Conference Sponsors. GA TSA deeply appreciates the generosity of our conference sponsors in providing resources that help provide the State Leadership Conference and keep the costs to our participants in check.

The GA TSA state delegation represented us all with pride and outstanding effort. AC Williams and Jack Crawford campaigned with class. Our new state officers led by Trevor Terry performed professionally. They're going to be a great team. With nearly 6400 in attendance, 15 GA TSA Chapters placed in the top ten in 20 events. Monroe Area HS earned Mr. Bush a going away gift in the form of 5 top 10 places and a National Championship in CNC Production, Parkview HS TSA placed 4 in the top 10 and took home a National Championship in Extemporaneous Speech. Harris Carver County Middle School won third place in System Control Technology and Tucker HS and Lowndes HS VEX Teams both made it to the Elite Eight and Tucker finished 4th in the National TSA Tournament. The other schools earning finalist pins and an appearance on stage were - GSMST, A.R. Johnson, Swainsboro HS, Hahira MS, Lowndes HS, Lambert HS, Chamblee HS, Union County HS, Hart County HS, Chattanooga Valley MS and South Forsyth HS. In addition, Georgia's contribution to the National Officer Team for 14-15, A.C., Laura Wilson and Leigh Ann Hamlin were outstanding. Our voting delegates were great during a marathon debate during the business meeting and last but definitely not least, Jack Crawford was elected at the National Vice President for 2015-16. Congratulations to all that represented our great state in Texas whether you made the stage or not and thank you all for an outstanding year in GA TSA! - SP
We had a very large turnout for voting this year. Thanks to all of you that participated. The results were close but these were the top vote-getters. Congratulations to the newest members of our GA TSA Board of Directors. We're looking forward to your leadership!
