Keep in mind that there are events that have preliminary submissions dates that are spelled out within the rules. An example are the webpage events - Webmaster (HS): "The Universal Resource Locator (URL) and all components of the chapter?s entry must be submitted to [email protected] by 11:59 pm Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on May 15th."

Check all of the events your kids are entering to be sure not to miss a submission deadline.
